ENG 660 - Principles of Educational Linguistics

An introduction to contemporary linguistics and how linguistic concepts is used in educational contexts. Major component areas of phonetics, phonology, morphology, semantics, syntax, pragmatics, language variation, and language acquisition will be examined. Pedagogical relevance and implications for teaching are an integral part of linguistic analysis. Offered fall semester. Prerequisite: Admission to M.A. in applied linguistics.
