CHM 235 - Organic Chemistry for Life Sciences I Lecture

The first semester of a two-semester sequence of Organic Chemistry designed to meet the needs of life science students. Topics include classes of organic compounds, nomenclature, transformations, reaction mechanisms, stereochemistry, and spectroscopy. Emphasis on the importance and application of functional group organic chemistry in living systems. Offered every semester. Prerequisite: CHM 127, CHM 128, and CHM 236 (CHM 236 may be taken concurrently).
