MTH 329 - Teaching Middle Grades Mathematics

Understand how students learn mathematics and the interconnectedness of planning, instruction, assessment, and professional decision-making. Mathematical pedagogical focus includes rational numbers, proportional reasoning, and geometry and measurement in grades 6-8. Fieldwork includes at least 6 hours of microteaching with a focus on facilitating group discussions and building respectful relationships. Offered winter semester. Prerequisites: C or better in MTH 210 and MTH 324.
