A study of representative metaphysical systems and problems through the writings of the classical, medieval, modern, and recent periods. Topics include being, substance, causation, essence, matter, form, space, time, relation, etc. Some attention to non-Western metaphysical thought. Offered fall semester of odd-numbered years.
