International Teaching Undergraduate Certificate
The goal of this certificate program is to recognize the importance of preparing teachers to be competent in international and intercultural teaching. This program recognizes the candidate's interest in preparing to teach international populations in domestic or foreign settings. Additional courses, beyond those required for the Certificate of International Teaching Experience, are required to earn a degree in teacher education and Michigan teaching certification. Students must be degree seeking students in education to receive the Certificate of International Teaching Experience. This certificate will be awarded at the same time as the degree is awarded. All undergraduate certificates have received Higher Learning Commission approval. Completion of coursework with grade of B- or better is required.

OR EDI 331 - Secondary Teacher Apprenticeship and Seminar: 5-12 (4 credits)
OR EDI 430 - Student Teaching, Elementary (10 credits)
OR BOTH EDI 431 - Secondary Teacher Internship and Seminar: 5-12 (7 credits) AND EDI 432 - Secondary and PK-12 Internship: Disciplinary Content Seminar (2 credits) - EDF 485 - The Context of Educational Issues (3 credits)
OR EDF 495 - Capstone: Reflective Inquiry and Practice (3 credits)
OR PCK 495 - Integrated Discipline-based Research in the PK-6 Classrooms (Capstone) (3 credits)
Students must participate in a teaching abroad experience supported by the College of Education and Community Innovation.

Upon completion of requirements the candidate will receive recognition on his/her transcript and a certificate of completion.
