M.Ed. Alumna Mary Spalding is Recognized During Women's History Month

We are proud of Mary Spalding, M.Ed. alumna and former CECI Administrative Assistant, for making a difference in the lives of children and families at Grand Rapids Public Schools (GRPS) and in our community!
In her role as Purchasing Coordinator, Mary supports the Promise Zone
Scholarship which provides free college opportunities for qualifying
GRPS students. Mary loves seeing students, families, and community
members be encouraged and feel loved.
As a nontraditional student at GVSU, Mary was inspired by Dr.
Judy Whipps, Dean Sherrill Soman, and members of the Gayle R. Davis
Center for Women and Gender Equity and the Replenish Student Basic
Needs Program. Mary enjoys connecting others with causes including
Replenish, the GRPS Homeless Scholars Program, Cross Roads Farms
Ministry, Better Way Designs, and GRPS Foundation Fundraisers. Mary
considers each action as an opportunity to pay it forward and create a
ripple effect positively impacting others.
