GVSU Professor & Students Attend Special Education Legislative Summit

Grand Valley State University was well represented through the Michigan Council for Exceptional Children (MCEC) this summer. MCEC is the professional organization dedicated to improving educational success of children and youth with disabilities and/or gifts and talents. Along with our national Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) and the Children and Youth Action Network (CAN) division, MCEC sponsored attendees to advance policy affecting students at the Special Education Legislative Summit in Washington, DC. This is a yearly event focusing on advocacy at the federal level through in person visits to our Congressional offices. It was my privilege to attend with current and past GVSU students.
