MEd Student and Teacher will Participate in the 1st Annual Teaching African American Studies Winter Institute

Jannelle Brawner (Secondary Education GTC/MEd student and teacher at East Kentwood High School-KPS) was selected through a very competitive application process to participate in the first annual Teaching African American Studies Winter Institute hosted by the National Humanities Center (NHC).
Open to all K–12 educators, this program will provide an immersive, hands-on learning experience to better understand the approaches and historical perspectives required to create and teach African American studies.
