The first memory that comes to mind is one that took place long after graduation. On November 15, 2019 I sat in the GVSU Fieldhouse Arena and watched the university officially welcome its first-ever female president, Philomena Mantella.

Being a part of the Cook Leadership Academy and being afforded opportunities like speakers, mentors, self-development, and building bonds with diverse peers. I now have the pleasure of giving back to the program both financially and as a mentor.

My favorite memory is planning and executing the first big event for the GVSU Chapter of NAACP as the inaugural president. Our team wanted to create an entertainment event that truly resonated with students of color on campus.

I have great memories from GVSU including welcome week freshman year, my first year Honors College sequence, traveling to Washington DC to present with a group of peers, and sharing research during Student Scholars Day.

I was given the opportunity to complete my teacher assisting in Stellenbosch, South Africa with a group of school of education students. We stayed with host families and also did some traveling for 6 weeks. It was the opportunity of a lifetime. 2.

My favorite memory was randomly being filmed for the "LipDub" in 2010 and playing GVSU Rugby with my best mates!

My time as a graduate fellow at the Van Andel Global Trade Center was indispensable in creating and obtaining a formative experience at GVSU. It's one of the best service-delivery-to-community programs that the university has.

It was the mid to late 70s and I'm sure like many, it was a great time to be a grand valley. The best was being in the first marching band ever and all the craziness that was and co-authoring the GVSC Fight Song.

It's so hard to choose one favorite Grand Valley memory, but I would say attending the football games with my parents would be my favorite. My brother was in the Grand Valley marching band so we would always enjoy watching him play.
