WGVU Morning Show Interview with Kenton Hancock, HTM '12

During his interview with Shelley Irwin, Kenton Hancock explains how his courses and required internships within the Hospitality and Tourism Management program prepared him for his current role as an Account Manager with Imperial Beverage located in Kalamazoo, Michigan.  Although Imperial Beverage is based in Kalamazoo, Kenton's area is the greater Grand Rapids market, or better known as 'Beer City USA'.

Kenton finds himself well-suited for the craft beer industry given his internships with Brewery Vivant and New Holland Brewing Company.  His job is fun, yet challenging, given the current times.  He's noticed the industry evolving from specialties, or limited release beers so popular over the last 5-10 years, to more core or traditional comfort products.  He believes people are looking for more normalcy during these COVID times.

His advice to students, "be prepared to adapt and change during these tough times economically and environmentally and to be innovative, it's what the hospitality industry needs right now."
