Assistant Professor Scott Rood receives Excellence in Research Award

Scott Rood, Assistant Professor and Chair of the Hospitality and Tourism Management Department, received the Excellence in Research Award during the Resort and Commercial Recreation's (RCRA) National Conference.

The Excellence in Research recognizes the valuable contribution of a selected piece of research that is presented at the RCRA Research Symposium.

Rood, along with a group of university professors, presented "COVID-19: Impacts on Resort Recreation."  These researchers from various universities developed a survey and gathered pertinent data during the course of the pandemic.  Thirty usable surveys were analyzed with descriptive statistics.  The professors plan to continue this research and follow through with more studies on the recreation impact from COVID-19.
