1. What has your journey been since graduation?
I have worked in the nonprofit sector helping make our world a little better.

2. How has Grand Valley had a role in your journey?
I started my journey at Grand Valley State Colleges in 1978 on a valedictorian scholarship. Taking a few classes in every decade, I finally earned my bachelor's degree in 2012.

3. What is your favorite Grand Valley memory?
Walking! Participating in graduation held at the Van Andel Arena, I felt like a rock star!

4. What three words describe your experience at Grand Valley?
Dynamic
Fulfilling
Inspirational

5. How, and why, have you stayed involved with Grand Valley since graduation?
GV feels like home.

6. Why are you proud to be a Laker for a Lifetime?
I am proud of Grand Valley - the school, the students and alumni, and the faculty and staff.

7. What do you like to do for fun?
My husband, Martin Hillard, also a GV alum, and I like to take road trips around our beautiful state and explore new places year-round.

8. What is your favorite quote/motto to live by?
Whether you think you can, or you think you can't - you're right.

9. What motivates you?
Enjoying the ride.

10. What book or movie have you recently enjoyed?
Calypso by David Sedaris.
