Teaching Experience
2024 – Present: Assistant Professor of Chemistry, Grand Valley State University, Allendale, MI
2022 – 2024: Assistant Professor of Chemistry, Kalamazoo College, Kalamazoo, MI

Research Interests
Our lab investigates biochemical processes in vivo (in living cells), using tools like CRISPR-Cas9 genome engineering to manipulate and study how proteins function and localize in the model organism Drosophila melanogaster (fruit flies). Undergraduate research students gain interdisciplinary experience with biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, and genetics as we study proteins involved in chronic kidney disease and protein aggregation.
