The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences is committed to providing our students with meaningful educational experiences that transform their understanding of course material. Whether it is on a nature hike, in the laboratory, in the orchestra pit, or in another country, our students learn through hands-on, high impact activities that equip them with the skills they need for their career and beyond. Your financial support allows us to provide all of our students with these opportunities.

Our current fundraising efforts focus on the CLAS Experiential Learning Endowment. This endowment will support all CLAS departments by providing the funds for faculty to create and offer course-based high impact activities and helping students to afford them. We are immensely grateful that the recent $2.2 million Department of Education grant includes $250,000 to seed this fund, and we are ready to take on the challenge of the required match.

We also have many other established funds to benefit and uplift the work of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Your support is valued and needed.

About the CLAS Experiential Learning Fund

One of the most impactful things a student can experience during their college journey is experiential learning--things like internships, study abroad, undergraduate research, and learning communities. The CLAS Voyage, which launches in Fall 2025, embeds these high impact experiences into classes, and all CLAS majors will have encountered at least two before they graduate. We are working to eliminate barriers like financial need so that all students have these opportunities. Most college graduates can point to a meaningful experiential learning experience that transformed their career path or world view. Your gift will ensure that our students have that same 'ah ha' moment.
