Catagories for Facilities Requests
Request is being developed - Step 0
This request has not been submitted to the dean’s office. This is the start of the process, and the department is still developing the reasoning behind the project. This can include rationale for work and photos and plans to explain the project in detail to the Dean’s office.
Request is Submitted to CLAS - Step 1
Once the submit button is hit, the classification switches to 1. The Dean’s Office will review the submission and then recategorize either gathering more information or start working with faciltiies planning on the request.
Request pending investigation by CLAS Dean's Office - Step 2
Questions have arisen when reviewing the request, and a meeting will need to be requested to build more information for the submission.
Request pending investigation by Facilities Planning - Step 3
The college has all of the information needed and has approved facilities planning to proceed with the project analysis for feasibility and cost.
Facilities Planning Responses - Classification 4
Facilities Planning will divide responses after they have developed a project analysis.
4.1 Facilities planning has completed the analysis, and the project is not feasible either because of buildability, ADA, or space.
4.2. The project is possible but requires funding.
This project ran out of funding this year, but the project will be held for the next years cycle and will go through the process again to continue to push for approval of the project
4.3 The project is funded by the classroom upgrade budget.
With this budget, the university must quickly complete small summer projects quickly. If a project falls into this category, facilities planning will work with the departments and the Dean’s office to complete it.
4.4 CMF waiting funding –
This project is so large that the university must approve the upgrade in its annual Capital Maintenance funding. This is a full-year cycle, so if you request something at the end of the year, funding will not be available until the following summer.
4.5 CMF approved –
The university has met and is willing to complete the project with CMF funds. However, this will usually require planning and architect support. Facilities planning will contact the departments and work with the Dean’s office to complete the planning and schedule the upgrades.
Requires Registrar of Provost approval. - Classification 5
This project will affect how the university uses the space, either by changing room classification or changing the maximum capacity of the room. All of these will trigger a Provost review to determine the more significant ramifications of the modification
6. This is a Maintenance item,
The department will need to be responsible for submitting a work order and working with facilities services to repair the space.
IT item Classification 7
If the pertains to a technology overhaul, then the protection gets moved to our IT service, and the college will enter a work order for work to be done.
Department Cancelled the request Classifcation 8
The department canceled the request in the system.
Department Cancelled the request Classifcation 9
The project has been complete.
