Janean Couch Receives the 2022 Alumni Service Award

GVSU Alumni Relations Announces 2022 Alumni Award Recipients, and Janean Couch, an alumnus of the M. Ed. in Higher Education, has been recognized for demonstrating outstanding service to Grand Valley and the Alumni Association!
Janean and her partner, Mike Couch, will be honored at the Alumni Awards Celebration taking place at the GVSU Alumni House & Visitor Center on Friday, October 21, 2022, at 6:00 p.m.
Janean is now a Program Director at the Grand Rapids Community Foundation and Mike is the Vice President for Enrollment Management at Martin University in Indiana. They are active volunteers at GVSU, serving in leadership roles in their fraternity and sorority, mentoring current students, and returning to campus to participate and speak in numerous events and activities. Additionally, the couple formed the Michael and Janean Couch Black Excellence Scholarship which assists African American students who are the first in their family to go to college.
In their spare time, they enjoy building relationships with family and friends, shopping and traveling, and giving back in any way they can to the community.
