Ongoing Research Studies:

Early Childhood Stuttering and Related Attitudes

About This Study

This study explores the relation between the development of childhood stuttering and child and caregiver attitudes toward stuttering. We follow young children (3;0 to 5;11 years old) and their primary caregiver longitudinally to explore these variables. Participation, which lasts six months, includes in-person visits for child assessments and monthly online surveys.

Participation

If you have a child between the ages of 3;0 and 5;11 and are interested in participating in this study, please complete this pre-interest survey! We are recruiting both children who do and do not stutter!

Using Parent-Led Bibliotherapy to Improve Attitudes of Children with Communication Disorders

About This Study

Following an initial visit on campus, caregivers will complete a 4-week bibliotherapy intervention that includes one book and activity (all materials provided) per week. The intervention focuses on improving emotional coping and resilience.

Participation

If you have a 5- to 8-year old child with a speech sound and/or stuttering disorder and are willing to complete the parent-led intervention, please complete this pre-interest form
