About
Matt is a lifelong educator at heart. Matt served as a secondary social studies and English teacher for five years before deciding to pursue roles where he could help other adults improve education. Since 2006, Matt has furthered learning as a field instructor, consultant, accreditation analyst, professional development leader, and professor. Along with his work at the Charter Schools Office, Matt currently operates his own education consulting firm (Cultivated Learning, LLC.) and is a part-time faculty member for GVSU’s Brooks College of Interdisciplinary Studies.
Additionally, Matt’s academic research has been shared through edited books, book chapters, peer-reviewed journals, conference papers, and presentations. He also is a member of statewide and national social studies councils and the American Educational Research Association.
