Meet the Mentors
Liz graduated from Hope College with a double major in English for Secondary Education and Spanish. She then spent ten years working in Chicago Public Schools teaching English, Writing, Spanish, and AP Literature and Composition. During that time, she spearheaded a teacher mentoring program through the Office of New Schools. Additionally, Liz spent five years as the high school mentor chair for the Guitars Over Guns Organization in Chicago, designing, instructing, and facilitating meaningful experiences for high school students and mentors. Liz has also written AP standards-based curriculum and reading comprehension lessons for on-line coursework. Currently, Liz is enjoying supporting early career teachers at Battle Creek Central High School through the W.K. Kellogg/BCBPS/GVSU Partnership.
