About

Dr. Stoetzel's research and teaching interests focus on educator learning across professional trajectories, specifically in regard to preservice teacher learning, instructional coach development, and the opportunities afforded by expanding visions of digital and multimodal literacy engagement (both as the content of literacy coursework and as an element of instructional design). This work is grounded in her beliefs about education which draw on shared expertise, situated learning, and fostering capacity building through collaboration.

A former middle and high school English teacher, Dr. Stoetzel worked extensively with the elementary education programs at the University of Wisconsin-Madison while honing experience as a program coordinator and instructor in the Student-Centered Coaching Certificate Program. More recently, she oversaw literacy-based field placements and coursework as a faculty member at Ferris State University. Dr. Stoetzel currently teaches undergraduate and graduate literacy courses at GVSU.
