EH&S at GVSU
GVSU's Environmental, Health and Safety Program guides the university’s commitment to workplace safety and environmental stewardship. Its goal is to reduce injuries, illness, accidents and environmental impacts. The program identifies risks, manages regulatory obligations, develops policies and procedures, and provides educational opportunities. Our program strives to work collaboratively with students, faculty, and staff, integrating EH&S to build a culture of safety at the university.
What We Do
EH&S is a collaborative effort to manage risks and support students and staff in the areas of Lab and Research Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Affairs, and Fire Safety.

EH&S builds partnerships across campus to engage diverse stakeholders to accomplish our goals. The program is managed through the Lab Safety and Facilities Safety offices. Campus Partners include:

Colin graduated from Purdue University with a dual Bachelors in Environmental Health Sciences and Occupational Health Sciences with further postgraduate education of a Master of Science in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University. Colin is a professionally Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) as well as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and is focused on utilizing his experience to assist GVSU in maintaining a safe and healthy campus. Hobbies include; spending time outdoors, fishing, skiing, and most importantly, spending time with his family.
