What is the Lightboard?

The Lightboard is an innovative tool that allows instructors to write while still facing their students. When the markers write on the board they appear to glow, this allows faculty to create engaging visuals that will help drive home instruction.

Lightboards are available at all three of our Bridge Studio Locations.

How to Prepare for a Lightboard Recording

Please watch the video below and download the powerpoint graphic template for information on how to best prepare for using the lightboard.

Some general best practices are:

  • Chunking your content
  • Do not wear a black shirt
  • Do not wear a shirt that has logos or words
  • Make sure your powerpoints have a black background
  • Leave at least 1/3 of the Powerpoint empty for you to stand in
  • Don't be afraid of making mistakes!

How the Lightboard was Built

Constructing the lightboard was a semester long process that involved following in the footsteps of other universities who have developed the concept as well adding in our own ideas and innovations.
