Abstract

The Panel Drilling Machine for Koops Automation Systems will automate the plotting and drilling of holes for electrical panels. The team has designed a CNC-like machine which sources X and Y hole coordinates from a panel design software, travels to the hole location via servos, lowers to the panel with a pneumatic cylinder, and drills the holes with an electric spindle. This project will free up time for the panel build team, allowing them to focus on assembling the drilled-out panels.
