Dr. Rhodes joined GVSU in 2007 and led the successful efforts to start the Biomedical Engineering program - graduate and undergraduate. She completed an undergraduate degree in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Pune (India), and her Master's and Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Marquette University (Milwaukee, WI). She also trained as a post-doctoral fellow in Anesthesiology Research from the Medical College of Wisconsin (Milwaukee, WI) where she developed mathematical models to explore the effects of age and hyperthermia on cardiac function.
