  • Candidates must be accepted for or currently attending GVSU
  • Must be entering your sophomore, junior or senior year at GVSU
  • Must be enrolled full-time in the Seymour and Esther Padnos College of Engineering and Computing
  • Must declare a major in either Mechanical Engineering, Product Design & Manufacturing Engineering and/or Interdisciplinary Engineering (with a focus on manufacturing)
  • Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or greater
  • Must be a making Satisfactory Academic Progress
  • This scholarship may be renewed without reapplication provided the student continues to make Satisfactory Academic Progress and based on availability of funding. This scholarship will support a sophomore student for a total of three (3) years.
  • Finalists will be contacted by faculty and staff of the Engineering Scholarship Committee for an interview, and asked to sign a release to share your resume with Autocam Medical. In addition to the scholarship, Autocam Medical encourages students to apply for internship and co-op opportunities at Autocam Medical. Autocam Medical may contact you about future opportunities with their company.

Dr. Shirley T. & Frederick R. Fleischmann Engineering Endowed Scholarship

  • Candidates must be accepted for or currently attending GVSU
  • Must be an undergraduate junior or senior level student enrolled in the Padnos College of Engineering with a declared engineering major
  • Must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or greater
  • Must be making Satisfactory Academic Progress
  • Financial need may be considered and can be demonstrated by the completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

FIRST Robotics Engineering Scholarship
  • Incoming student
$4,000 per year 1/31/2025
  • Must be a new entering freshman and apply for admission to GVSU prior to December 31
  • Must have participated in the FIRST Robotics Competition
  • Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or better in high school
  • Optional: a competitive ACT/SAT score; typically 26 ACT/1260 SAT: Consider providing your standardized test scores for consideration. Additionally, if you are seeking to showcase strong math proficiency, we encourage you to submit your test scores and have at least 6 units of high school math and science.
  • Must have at least 6 units of high school math and science
  • Must be enrolled full time (12 credits)

Scholarship Committee: The Engineering Scholarship Committee will select a recipient from those students who meet the above qualifications and who have been admitted to the University. Awards will be announced by the end of March. Two scholarships are awarded annually to EGR

Renewal Criteria: To renew a student must be enrolled in engineering and carry a minimum of 12 credits each semester, maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA at GVSU and successfully complete the engineering requirements for each academic year. Can receive scholarship for a maximum of 10 semesters.

    Fred M. and Bernedine Keller Engineering Diversity Scholarship
    • Incoming student
    • Continuing student
    Varies 3/1/2025
    • Applied for admission to GVSU prior to December 31, and have been accepted for enrollment or be a current student.
    • Enrolled as a full-time, degree-seeking student in the School of Engineering
    • Have at least 6 units of high school math and science (first year students)
    • Demonstrated financial need as evidenced by the FAFSA form
    • Declared their ethnic or multiracial, person of color, status on their admissions application

    Recipients will be selected by the Engineering Scholarship Committee from those students who meet the above qualifications and have been admitted to the University.

    • Must be an undergraduate student that is full time (12 credits or more)
    • Must declare a major in electrical or mechanical engineering
    • Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater
    • Financial need may be considered and can be demonstrated by the completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
    • This scholarship can be awarded to an individual for a maximum of two (2) academic years. To be considered in future years, students must re-apply by the deadline and continue to meet the qualifications. Any additional awards are based on availability of funding.

    General Dynamics Land Systems Scholarship
    • Incoming student

    Up to $1,500 3/1/2025
    • Be a current GVSU engineering student or have applied for admission to GVSU prior to December 31, and have been accepted by Grand Valley,
    • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 in High School (if an entering freshman), at Grand Valley or at another accredited college or university,
    • Have an ACT math sub-score of at least 27 and a composite score of at least 25, or an SAT math score of at least 665 and an SAT total of at least 1220
    • Have successfully completed at least 6 units of high school math and science courses (if an entering freshman),
    • Have filed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid form. First priority will be given to students that have financial need.

      • Candidates who meet one or more of the following will be given additional consideration:
        • Graduates of urban public schools
        • Transfer student from community college
        • Participants of TRIO or Upward Bound programs
        • Participants of Padnos College of Engineering and Computing outreach activities such as STEPS, AIME, FIRST, MATHCOUNTS
        • Participants of GRAPCEP, GEARUP Michigan or a similar program any time during their K-12 educations
        • Lived in Section 8 or Section 236 housing
      • Candidates must be accepted for or currently attending GVSU
      • Must be accepted and enrolled with full-time degree seeking status in the School of Engineering
      • Must be Junior or Senior level student with minimum of 55 credit hours
      • Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.7 or greater
      • Must be making Satisfactory Academic Progress
      • Transfer candidates must be accepted by GVSU for enrollment and be attending the University
