Abstract

Professors in Grand Valley State University’s Physics Department first introduced a novel design for a single-axis electron-tunneling microscope. The purpose of the single-axis design is to provide undergraduate physics labs with the means to collect measurements of electron tunneling current and serve as an alternative to the scanning tunneling microscope (STM).
