Abstract
The purpose of this project was to automate the Dry Ice Deburring operation for the Valve Seat component at NN, Inc. This will benefit NN, Inc. through labor savings, eliminating a repetitive motion task manually, and improve employee safety by limiting CO2 exposure. Dry Ice blasting is a non-abrasive way to deburr machined parts without secondary waste and residual media. In overview, the parts will travel through the automation cell pneumatically, stopping and fixed at a designated position to be blasted with dry ice for a set time, and then continuing through the automation cell to be dropped in a complete bin.
Looking ahead, our enduring legacy of expertise and commitment to continuous enhancement will propel us to establish new standards in product manufacturing.
