Abstract

Woodward currently has three separate stands with unique adapter fixturing for test fuel and compressed air cleaning of fuel injector nozzle interiors. There are a few different designs of these nozzles, and they are returned from the field after certain amounts of flight hours for maintenance and cleaning, which the stands are used for exclusively. Woodward’s request is to build a new stand that combines the functionality of the three existing ones. Adapter fixturing (hose to nozzle) should be compatible to run both air and test fuel through the nozzles to reduce adapter changeout time.
