Abstract
The MAT Table is a novel, multi-purpose exercise and rehabilitation apparatus designed for physical therapists to provide a wide range of treatment and care to patients using a single device. Combining the functionality of a treatment table, traction table, gravity resisted lower extremity exercise platform, mounted pulley exercise table, and a tilt/inversion table, this device is intended to provide physical therapists with exceptional treatment capacity with a small footprint, and without the purchase of additional specialized equipment. Features of the current MAT Table design include powered tilt capabilities, an adjustable squat platform, pulley mounts, removable rails, and positioning hardware. The next step in this product’s development is the addition of full-table vertical lift capability, allowing for improved ease of access for patients, controlled safety during treatments, and adjustable ergonomics for providers.
To provide physical therapy equipment that enhances the patient's experience and functional improvement faster than traditional equipment. Improving the physical therapist ability to provide treatment in a safer way and with less physical stress.
