Blumreich and McLeod publish article in Horror Studies journal
Drs Kathleen Blumreich and Corinna McLeod have an article coming out soon in a special issue of the peer-reviewed academic journal, Horror Studies . The article is titled "From Capes to Tuffskin Jeans: Stephen King's Vampires and 1980s Angst,” and focuses on the transformation of King’s vampires as horror figures across the texts ‘’Salem’s Lot,’ ‘The Night Flier,’ and ‘Popsy.’ Blumreich and McLeod explore King’s emphasis on Reagan-era anxieties, guiding us to the conclusion that in light of human behaviors, the prototypical vampire may not be the one to fear.
