Join us for a free live screening of "Climate Sisu" with the panel discussion just before the northern Michigan premiere of the documentary. Panelists from across the community will share information and local resources related to this important topic.

"Climate Sisu" is an innovative documentary exploring critical issues of climate change within and community resiliency in Michigan.  Through a compelling narrative and a diverse set of voices, the documentary takes its viewers on a journey from the Grand Valley State University (GVSU) campus to the heart of Michigan's communities in the northern regions. It embarks on this expedition to uncover and share essential insights about climate action, resilience, adaptation, and education.

One of the standout features of "Climate Sisu" is the diverse range of perspectives it presents. The documentary weaves together the narratives of environmental activists, students, climate scientists, educators, farmers, winemakers, and urban planners. By doing so, it offers a multifaceted and comprehensive view of the issue, acknowledging that climate change affects various aspects of society and that solutions must involve a broad array of stakeholders.

Environmental activists bring passion and advocacy to the forefront, demonstrating the importance of grassroots efforts and activism in raising awareness and driving change. Students, as the future leaders, highlight the role of education and the imperative to equip the next generation with the knowledge and skills needed to address climate challenges effectively.  The diverse voices allow "Climate Sisu" to paint a comprehensive picture of Michigan's unique climate challenges and, more importantly, the potential solutions that can be found within the state. By showcasing the efforts and ideas of these various stakeholders, the documentary provides viewers with a sense of hope, illustrating that climate action is a collective effort that can bring about positive change.
