Belly Dance Club is a body-positive organization that aspires to teach members the art of belly dancing and being confident in their own skin. No dance experience is required! This is a great way to get a workout by dancing to various genres of music while learning a new form of dance. Our club is a welcoming, relaxing environment, and a great way to meet new friends. We encourage each other and promote self-confidence in our unique and fun dances. We host two full-club performances a year, and our "Pozi POD" performs around campus for cultural events and for other organizations. We encourage anyone who loves to dance, exercise or wants to learn some new moves to join our club.

Our motto is: Every Belly Can Dance! Shimmies!

The Folk Music Club aims to bring the enjoyment of acoustic, Celtic/European, fiddle, bluegrass, and other folk music and folk arts culture elements to students at Grand Valley. This will be accomplished through regular meetings and possibly some performances, guest speakers/performers, dances including folk music, and trips to folk music festivals, to include not only the students within the Club but bring the joy of music to others in our school and greater community. Our goal is to provide an experience that will enrich students lives and prepare them to join folk music communities elsewhere and throughout life.

The purpose of this organization shall be to provide an avenue for musical expression, the introduction of new music, the musical growth of individuals and the folk music community, and above all, the enjoyment of music.

Anyone is welcome! You can just listen or play acoustic instruments!
