While many of our workshops provide skills that can be useful in an outdoor climbing setting, this workshop specifically bridges the gap for gym-to-crag skills (skills that indoor climbers don't need but outdoor climbers use often). Whether you're planning to lead outdoor climbs with friends from the gym or are going with a group and plan to "just climb" but still want to be helpful, this is an ideal workshop for bolstering what you already know in order to operate more competently and responsibly outdoors. This workshop is for you if you've ever asked questions like: How do we get the gear back? Helmets aren't worn indoors, why should I wear them outdoors? The first bolt is 20' up and I'm not comfortable climbing there unprotected, what do I do? In the gym I use a ground anchor, what do I do outside? Having the knowledge to solve these problems and knowing basic crag etiquette will also make you someone others want to take on ALL their climbing adventures!
Topics include: Crag Etiquette & Leave No Trace for Climbers, Getting Down, Identifying appropriate climbs, and other details you might not have considered.
Format: In-person
