These are weekly social gatherings planned by and for GVSU students who are into hiking, camping, &/or backpacking. While we do plan to have a topic each week, it's meant to be a more informal exploration, focused on sharing ideas and having fun with other outdoorsy students. This semester, they'll be Mondays at 5p with varying end times.
Learn some foundations of backpacking that will support your trips from what is in your bag and how to pack it. The ABC’s of backpacking are a method of organizing your pack most efficiently and the 10 essentials are what every backpacker should pack when preparing for a trip. Together these skills can elevate your techniques in beginning backpacking. Packs for practicing can be provided as-needed. Feel free to bring your own, if you have one here on campus!
