Student Scholars Day is a celebration of student excellence in research and creative work at Grand Valley State University. One of the areas that exemplify the importance these ideals is the Department of Visual and Media Arts. The diverse department is a network of related yet separate disciplines in which students investigate, question, and create visual culture. The department is made up of areas in Art Education, Art History, Film and Video Production, Photography and Studio Art.
During the 2024 Student Scholars Day event, the Department of Visual and Media Arts will exhibit the high standards of student research in the department. Showcased in the atrium gallery of the Calder Art Center will be exceptional drawing work from a variety of different classes. The exhibit will be in display from April 10-28. The will be celebrated with a reception on Thursday, April 11 from 5-6:30 p.m. in the Calder Art Center.
