An impressionistic image of a landscape. In the foreground is a tree barren of leaves with a white horse and cart beneath it. A sunset shines through the branches. Upright hay bales are on the left.

During ArtPrize, the Gordon Gallery will be open for extra hours! Visit us for a tour of work by artist Mathias Alten. Take a moment to relax surrounded by art and air conditioning, and then make sure to check out the GVSU ArtPrize entry, Gathering Currents, by Daniel Roberts, located outside of Eberhard Center.

In the Gordon Gallery, your group will explore works by Grand Rapids artist Mathias Alten in An Evolving Legacy . Your group also has the option to go upstairs to visit Real and Imagined: Interpreting the Michigan Landscape. This exhibition features work by both Alten and other artists, such as Armand Merizon, Stephen Duren, and Alynn Guerra, who explore the state of Michigan through paper, paint, and ink.

Drop-in tours are scheduled for one hour. Your group does not need to stay for the entirety of this time. If you have a group of larger than 20 people, please contact Learning and Outreach Manager Jessica Sundstrom at [email protected]. If you have any issues creating a booking online, please contact Jessica Sundstrom.
