US-Afghanistan/Taliban Relations and the Human Rights of Afghan Women: Presented by Farid Hassanzadah

Farid Hassanzadah has worked extensively with the United Nations, the Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission (AIHRC) and international non-government organizations to promote human rights in his country.
In addition to his main activities, he was also collaborating with the Afghan universities as a visiting political science scholar in his last three years in Kabul before the collapse of Afghanistan's government in August 2021. Through the Scholar at Risk Network, he came to GVSU where he is currently teaching human rights as a visiting professor in the Political Science Department. Please join us to learn from Farid's experiences and hear his reflections on human rights and Afghanistan.
