Multicultural Greek Council
The Multicultural Greek Council, or MGC, is the governing body for all international fraternities and sororities which do not hold membership in the North-American Interfraternity Conference (NIC), National Panhellenic Conference (NPC), and National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC). Our council is open to national fraternities who hold membership in: NALFO, NAPA, NMGC, PFA or another comparable governing board as determined by the MGC.
The GVSU Multicultural Greek Council (MGC) is currently home to four Greek Letter Organizations. They are:
- Delta Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc.
- Delta Tau Lambda Sorority, Inc.
- Sigma Lambda Beta International Fraternity, Inc.
- Sigma Lambda Gamma National Sorority, Inc.

Delta Phi Lambda - Iota Chapter
Delta Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc. is a 501(c)(7) non-profit organization that advocates Asian awareness and empowers women to lead through values-based programs and everlasting sisterhood. Delta Phi Lambda’s national philanthropy is osteoporosis education and prevention, emphasizing the importance of promoting healthy lifestyles and behavior in young women. Founded in 1998, Delta Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc. has grown to 21 undergraduate chapters in 12 states spanning the Southeast, Midwest, and the Northeast.

Delta Tau Lambda - Lambda Chapter
Delta Tau Lambda is a community-oriented sorority. Our main objectives are academic excellence and community service. We strive to bring about change in the Latino community as well as in other communities of color. A great deal of our work involves the youth, for we believe that they are our future and we their role models. We believe that through our hard work, we will empower others to achieve for themselves and lead one another to greatness.

Sigma Lambda Beta - Alpha Gamma Chapter
Founded April 4th, 1986 at the University of Iowa, the primary purpose of ΣΛΒ is to promote Latino/Hispanic culture as well as standards of excellence in morality, ethics, and education. The four key principles that serve as pillars to this purpose are Brotherhood, Scholarship, Community Service, and Cultural Awareness. With over 150 entities, Sigma Lambda Beta has the largest combined network of undergraduate chapters, colonies, alumni associations/networks of any historically Latino intercollegiate fraternity.

Sigma Lambda Gamma - Omicron Alpha Chapter
Sigma Lambda Gamma, founded on April 9th, 1990 at the University of Iowa, is the fastest growing multicultural sorority in the United States that emphasizes membership of individuals of all cultures. The nationalities in our sisterhood reflect over 114 countries of origin. So, we dedicate ourselves to providing a safe space and mechanism of empowerment for ALL people. We strive to educate the community on cultural diversity and the importance of cultural awareness within our communities. The Omicron Alpha Chapter was founded on Grand Valley’s campus on February 20, 1999. Since then, we have been the first, and only, multicultural sorority at GVSU. Our sorority focuses on living by the following five principles: Academics, Community Service, Cultural Awareness, Morals and Ethics, and Social Interaction.
