Program Request

Member development is an aspect of the fraternity/sorority experience that is promised during the recruitment/intake process. To ensure that promise becomes a reality for members of values-based social fraternities and sororities here at Grand Valley State University, the FSL Staff is committed to offering experiences and opportunities for chapters to develop their members. As dues paying members to an organization, members should expect to be receiving a return on their investment in our organizations, and providing exceptional membership experiences is one way to ensure that active members engage throughout the duration of their membership, and ultimately become engaged alumni. Topics that can contribute to a member's holistic development within your organization can include, but are not limited to:

  • Leadership
  • Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion
  • Career/Post-College Preparation
  • Finance
  • Academic
  • Professional Development
  • Mental and Physical Wellbeing
  • Identity

On this page, you will find links to campus resources that provide workshops and programs for your members to attend. We encourage you to reach out to these resources and offices to not only establish a connection between them and your chapter, but to also collaborate with them on hosting workshops or programs, specifically for members of your organization. This could include having them attend one of your chapter meetings to present the program/workshop to your members, or working with them to solidify a date and time for your chapter to experience or attend the program/workshop. When reaching out to these campus resources and offices, please be prepared with dates, times, and locations that work for your chapter so you are able to be flexible in scheduling a program that is best fit for everyone involved.
