LGBT Community Center Awareness Day

The LGBT Resource Center at Grand Valley received a letter from President Barack Obama acknowledging September 15 as LGBT Community Center Awareness Day.
“It’s a nice way to acknowledge the work we do in the center,” said Colette Seguin Beighley, director of the center. “There are four LGBT community centers in Michigan, so it’s great to be included in this category.”
The LGBT Resource Center is part of the Michigan Higher Education Consortium for Equality, a network of resource centers and professionals that work toward building inclusive campuses.
