Virus Action Team update: Free vaccines and walk-in testing clinics
On August 23, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for the prevention of COVID in individuals 16 years of age and older. GVSU Vaccine clinics , which offer the Pfizer vaccine and the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, are being held on campus now through September.
Important action steps for the GVSU community:
- Get a COVID vaccine before the required deadline of September 30 and then record your status and upload verification in your online self-assessment. Completion of the self-assessment is required each day when on campus.
- Students, faculty and staff who have received an approved exemption or are awaiting completion of their vaccination are required to be tested weekly and will receive an email with instructions.
- Free, walk-in testing is available for students and employees who do not have symptoms.
- Face coverings are required in all indoor spaces, with a few exceptions. They must cover the mouth and nose, and fit snugly against the sides of the face.
Email [email protected] with any questions. Since the Delta variant is present in West Michigan, remember to exercise familiar precautions as you enjoy campus events.
