A rare, original copy of the Declaration of Independence was at the Gerald R. Ford Museum, and author and historian Garry Wills spoke opening night. In partnership with the Ford Museum and the Ford Foundation, Wills cane to Grand Rapids for an entertaining and informative evening surrounding this extraordinary exhibit.

Wills’ talk, The Declaration: Still Jefferson’s Proudest Boast, was free and open to the public. Wills said some people have recently belittled the importance of the Declaration of Independence, but without solid reasoning. He provided context to this historic document.
