Description

President Bill Clinton's 1992 (and 1996) campaigns reshaped modern electoral politics by implementing various innovative election tactics. In some ways, these tactics returned campaigns to past vote-getting techniques, while in others they established a very different kind of future. In this talk, Jay Barth, Director of the William J. Clinton Presidential Library & Museum, will offer insight into the unique nature of the Clinton campaigns and analyze the roots of our contemporary electoral politics in the weeks before the 2024 election.

This special event is offered in partnership with the Hauenstein Center and Grand Forum, GVSU’s 55+ adult learning program. Everyone is welcome to attend the full day of programming including lunch.

This event also appears on the main events calendar tagged as academic, alumni, grandforum, and hauenstein.
