Homecoming 1978: Grand Valley's First

An article in the Lanthorn from October 26, 1978, lists the various activities surrounding Homecoming. A few are highlighted here: 

  • Free movie showings of “American Graffiti” and the original “Pink Panther”
  • Laker Spirit Pep Rally
  • GVSC parade of students, alumni, cars, floats, GVSC Marching Band, the Great Laker and cheerleaders
  • Spirit hayrides throughout campus offering fans a free ride to the football game
  • Homecoming Cabaret including a wine and cheese buffet, music and dancing
