Job Summary
Provides exemplary customer service and support for a variety of functions within the Allendale Campus Student Assistance Center in the Registrar’s Office. This is a nine-month, 40 hour per week position (August-May). The hours are 8AM to 5PM Monday through Friday.
Essential Functions
- Works at the service center– answers questions, receives and provides paperwork for responding to customer needs and performs typical administrative functions such as registering students, financial transactions, providing admissions information, producing transcripts, etc.
- Assists customers on the telephone, e-mail, and in person.
- Interprets regulations and procedures and responds appropriately.
- Responsible for financial transactions at the service counters
- Responsible for maintaining and balancing a drawer.
- Works at Commencement twice a year over the weekend.
- Cross trains to assist other units as needed.
- Runs unofficial transcripts and degree audits.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Prepares, scans, and indexes document images.

Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Minimum of two years relevant work experience.
- Experience with various computer software applications such as Microsoft Office and/or equivalent.
- Ability to operate office equipment.
- Data entry experience.
- Typing and spelling competency.
- Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to provide quality customer service.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Ability to maintain satisfactory work performance and attendance records.
- Ability to successfully maintain positive intercultural and interpersonal relationships.
Preferred Qualifications
- Some college and banking-related experience.
- Higher education work experience.
- Experience with a student data information system.
- Demonstrated creative and innovative problem-identification and problem-solving skills.
Supervision Received
Receives supervision and work assignments from a designated supervisor, although other staff members in the unit may provide work direction.
Supervision Exercised
May be responsible for the coordination of work assignments for student employees.
Physical Demands
