Job Summary
Provides exemplary customer service and support for a variety of functions within the Allendale Campus Student Assistance Center in the Registrar’s Office. This is a 12-month, 30 hour per week position. The hours are 9:30AM to 4PM Monday through Friday.
Essential Functions
- Provides quality customer service at the Student Assistance Centers in Allendale by assisting with registration, financial transactions, student forms, requests for information, printing of transcripts, etc.
- Assists customers on the telephone, e-mail, and in person.
- Interprets regulations and procedures and responds appropriately.
- Responsible for financial transactions at the service counters
- Responsible for maintaining and balancing a cash drawer.
- Works at Commencement twice a year over the weekend.
- Cross trains to assist other units as needed.
- Runs unofficial transcripts and degree audits.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Prepares, scans, and indexes document images.

Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Minimum of two years relevant work experience.
- Experience with various computer software applications such as Microsoft Office and/or equivalent.
- Ability to operate office equipment.
- Data entry experience.
- Typing and spelling competency.
- Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to provide quality customer service.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Ability to maintain satisfactory work performance and attendance records.
- Ability to successfully maintain positive intercultural and interpersonal relationships.
Preferred Qualifications
- Some college and banking-related experience.
- Higher education work experience.
- Experience with a student data information system.
- Demonstrated creative and innovative problem-identification and problem-solving skills.
Supervision Received
Receives supervision and work assignments from a designated supervisor, although other staff members in the unit may provide work direction.
Supervision Exercised
May be responsible for the coordination of work assignments for student employees.
