Job Summary
Responsible for Undergraduate and GTC Placements Database, reporting, and file maintenance.
Essential Functions
- Maintain the Placements database, which includes responsibility for Graduate Teacher Certification (GTC) and Undergraduate Teacher Certification applicants.
- Responsible for scanning and all data entry information needed for the Placements database, as well as working with CECI computer consultant, placement coordinators, field coordinators, faculty, students, public schools, GVSU Records office, and Career Services.
- Coordinates the processing of data, records and other similar materials.
- Compiles data from a variety of information sources and transforms statistical data into logical reports for CECI personnel, Career Services, and GVSU Records office.
- Makes recommendations for courses of action to be taken based on analysis of information.
- Maintains and devises filing and record keeping systems; paper or computerized.
- Work with Records office to process undergraduate and GTC Provisional Rosters. Maintain Provisional Roster database.
- Purge undergraduate and GTC files, maintain file purge database.
- Coordinator/schedule student employee support for undergraduate and GTC admission projects.
- Generates reports, memorandums, correspondence, presentation materials, packets and/or handouts.
- Coordinate special events or functions, including preparation of materials, packets and/or handouts.
- Answers inquiries requiring explanation and interpretation of established policies and procedures and departmental policies and procedures, and directs individuals to sources of additional information.
- Other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Minimum of three years of relevant work experience.
- Demonstrated experience to successfully work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated experience to successfully maintain positive intercultural and interpersonal relationships.
- Demonstrated experience to successfully operate office equipment.
- Demonstrated experience to successfully provide quality customer service.
- Demonstrated experience to successfully maintain satisfactory work performance and attendance records.
- Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Typing and spelling competency.
- Demonstrated experience to successfully to use various computer software applications.
- Demonstrated experience to successfully work independently, organize own work and coordinate work activities of others.
- Demonstrated experience to successfully perform mathematical calculations with speed and accuracy.
- Excellent grammar and proofreading skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Some college course work.
- Higher education experience.
- Supervisory experience.

Receives general instruction from a designated supervisor, but is generally expected to work independently.
Supervision Exercised
Hire, train, supervise, schedule and coordinate the work of student employees and may act as lead worker to other PSS staff members within the department/unit/division.
