Job Summary
Responsible for managing the operations of Parking Services for Grand Valley State University
Essential Functions
- Manage and administer the university parking database (FLEX). This includes permits, citations, appeals, troubleshooting and resolution of software and hardware issues, reporting, communication and training.
- Provide excellent customer service to the GV community and its guests. Respond to questions, complaints, issues and resolve them in the appropriate manner.
- Oversee all parking related accommodations for events, guest services, new employees, returning faculty/staff, admissions and transfer students.
- Systems management: ePermits, Permit Direct and ParkMobile.
- Manage data collection, analysis, distribution and recommendations on various parking related issues.
- Create, develop or assist in implementing or updating policies, procedures, efficiencies and signage as related to Parking Services.
- Work cooperatively with the FSP Coordinator of Information Systems and Technology
- Direct the development and administration of necessary reporting for Parking Services.
- Function as the FLEX eBusiness Admin Console Administrator for all online parking related transactions.
- Research and write RFPs and negotiate contracts with parking related vendors and Procurement Services.
- Organize the updating of parking maps annually for print and website.
- Research and stay current with trends and best practices in higher education and make recommendations for changes or improvements.
- Conduct the financial reconciliation and deposits generated from daily cash, credit cards, meter revenue, citations and parking permits.
- Direct the coordination, data collection, analysis from the parking survey and make appropriate recommendations from results.
- Coordinate and oversee the annual Art2Park contest and internship.
- Update GVPD website for Parking Services related content.
- Supervise and provide leadership to personnel within Parking Services.
- Coordinate with Traffic staff on parking enforcement.
- Oversee the following committees: Traffic and Parking Ordinance and Parking Appeals.
- Serve under the direct supervision of the Director of Public Safety Services.
- Maintain working relations with various departments throughout the University.

Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Minimum of four years of relevant work experience.
- Demonstrated administrative and organizational skills.
- Experience with various computer software applications such as Microsoft Office and/or equivalent.
- Data entry experience.
- Typing and spelling competency with grammar and proofreading skills.
- Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience to successfully provide quality customer service.
- Demonstrated experience to successfully work independently, organize own work and coordinate work activities of others.
- Demonstrated experience to successfully coordinate large projects.
- Demonstrated experience to successfully handle multiple demands efficiently.

Hire, train, schedule and coordinate the work of student employees and may act as lead worker to PSS staff members within the department/unit/division.
