GVSU Team Members
The grant team is comprised of Grand Valley State University Kirkhof College of Nursing faculty and staff, who serve as project leaders and main contacts for the grant program. The team supports and collaborates with all project stakeholders including students, preceptors, consultants, and practice partners.
Katherine Moran
Dr. Moran, DNP, RN, CDE, FAADE, FNAP is the Associate Dean for Graduate Nursing Programs and Associate Professor at Grand Valley State University (GVSU), Kirkhof College of Nursing. She is responsible for overseeing the grant implementation process, the budget, and all evaluation and reporting activities, as well as the overall project. Beyond working in academia, Dr. Moran has broad interprofessional experience as an advocate for social justice and care provider for the underserved. Dr. Moran was the co-founder of My Self-Management Team, Inc., which provides care, consultation, and education for patients with chronic disease in the primary care setting, and a coordinator of interprofessional care through the Michigan Primary Care Transformation Project.
Michelle McElroy
Michelle McElroy is the Project Manager for the HRSA ANEW grant. She manages the implementation and evaluation of the grant and supports the practice partners, site staff, preceptors, and students. She oversees all grant activities, including budget oversight and data collection, and develops project reports, policies, procedures, and manuals. Michelle has her bachelor's degree in Health Care Systems Administration and her master's degree in Business Administration.
