Andrew Kalafut

Director, Institute for Cybersecurity Education and Research

Andrew Kalafut founded the Institute for Cybersecurity Education and Research in October 2023, and is currently the director of the institute. Kalafut also serves as an associate professor in the GVSU School of Computing, where he mainly teaches Cybersecurity classes. He earned his Ph.D from Indiana University in 2010. Kalafut's research interests include network security, authentication, and human factors in Cybersecurity.

As the director, Kalafut serves as the point of contact for the institute.

Samah Mansour

Graduate Program Director, MS Cybersecurity

Samah Mansour is an assistant professor and the director of the MS Cybersecurity program. Her research interests include IoT lightweight authentication protocols, network security, and adversarial learning. Additionally, she actively participates in activities to promote women in cybersecurity and engages in outreach activities targeting K-12 students to introduce them to computing and cybersecurity careers. Furthermore, Samah Mansour is a member of WiCyS and WomSA.

Vijay Bhuse

Program Chair, BS Cybersecurity

Vijay Bhuse is an Associate Professor of Computer Science and currently an undergraduate Cybersecurity program chair. He received his Ph.D. from Western Michigan University in 2007 and completed his postdoctoral fellowship from the Dartmouth College. He worked in industry before returning to academia. His research interests are Network Security, Wireless Sensor Networks, Malware Analysis and Secure Coding.
